Location, access and attractions

Access

 

Moraira is easily reached from two airports. Alicante airport is an hour's drive away, while Valencia airport can be reached in around one hour twenty minutes.

 

Alicante Airport is conveniently accessible by public transport. You can book seats on Beniconnect buses at www.beniconnect.com.  

 

The location between two major airports helps to pick more affordable flights.

Fiestas

 

Spain is obviously also known for its fiestas, for which there is always an occasion. In the Marina Alta region there are truly plenty of them and typically after a celebration in one town, another one starts in the neighbouring one. This is an amazing opportunity to discover local traditions, taste regional food and drinks and meet the locals. The parties in Moraira are lively, colourful, full of music and dance, and their unique atmosphere attracts locals and tourists alike. 

Beaches

The nearest beach, l'Ampolla, can be reached in a 7-8 minute walk through the town . There is a restaurant on the shore of the beach and restrooms are available.

 

The picturesque El Portet, with its blue water encouraging swimming, is a 15-minute walk from the flat. The quality of the water and infrastructure here has been awarded a so-called ‘blue flag’.

 

In the area, between Calpe and Javea, you will find many other stunning beaches such as Moraig, Portitxol, Granadella.

 

Hiking in the area

 

‘Marina Alta’ does not only enjoy magnificent beaches, but also stunning scenery with mountains, cliffs and bays. During the low season the area becomes quieter and then it is worth taking a stroll along the many designated trails to admire the scenery and natural beauty.

The town

Moraira, lies between Calpe and Dania, on a section of the Costa Blanca called Marina Alta. Although small, it is more than just a summer resort, you can see here many eye-catching sculptures, constructions, colourful streets and experience many local festivities.
